profession...
I decide to interview my father Milton Baldeon who is a Industrial Engineer. Im not quite sure the exact field of engineering i will be going into but industrial is one i have been looking at . When interviewing him of his worries and thoughts he explained to me that he doesnt see industrial engineers being in very big demand in the next few years. He explained that even now it is hard find a good job with benefits (expectially in this economy). The need for industrial engineers is getting weeded out and replaced by other sectors of the engineering field. His main worries were for me finding a good job, 401K and health insurances. Expecially with the crisis that has been going on in the past few months 401k have plumeted nearly 50% leaving workers close to retirement very nervous. Each year companies are also lowering coverage on insurance benefits, which in turn incase your family were to get sick would cost you alot. When discussing the job situation he began stressing how important it was to network and get your foot in the door as soon as possible. Many jobs are transfering overseas for low wages and job security i America is being compromised. Overall his insight in the engineering profession was very helpful it allows me to view my worries but also worries of someone who is in the field.
